1986 Camaro IROC-Z

Back in high school we used to cruise for hours most Friday and Saturday nights. I was driving the 3000GT with two friends with third gen Camaros a ~1985 z28 and a ~1991 RS respectively. There was another kid we didn’t know who had a blue IROC-Z and despite it most likely not being any better than my friend’s Camaros it made quite the impression on me. I wanted one really bad. My Dad and I briefly considered him buying me out of the the 3000GT and me buying an IROC going so far as to looking at a yellow one but it just wasn’t it. It had to be blue.

Years went by and at one point I owned three thirdgens which were all basket cases for their own reasons which were ultimately sold when I bought the Olds. I’d occasionally look for a blue IROC from time to time but would always talk myself out of it. In summer 2017 on the way home from a friend’s house in Milwaukee I stopped for dinner at Arbys and walked past a blue IROC in the parking lot. It was beat up and rusty but it reignited that flame for me and little did I know I’d have my very own within weeks.

It is all this car’s fault!

When I got home the search began and while there were a few blue IROCs up for grabs one stood out as the perfect match. Nothing that close to my ideal IROC had ever come up in the past but here it was… an almost all original 1986 IROC-Z hard top with a 5-speed and an original Wisconsin car to boot!

This is one sweet ride!
Nearly stock. It came with the OEM steering wheel.
